Falls Lake – 6/24/17
Nineteen teams competed in the fourth Youth Educational Series event of the 2017 season. Teams launched from the Ledge Rock Wildlife access around 6:00am and returned at 1:00pm for the afternoon weigh-in.
William Mills and Evan Cain took the top spot with their five fish catch weighing in at 13.50lbs, anchored by a nice 3.76lb largemouth. For their effort, each angler received matching plaques signifying their win, a combination prize package of a Plano storage box containing a spinnerbait, lipless crankbait and pack of bullet weights (Provided in part by Outdoor Accessories Unlimited), a ZMan Fishing Lures pack of Elaztech product and a package of hooks from Penetration Hooks.
Jules Williams and Chauncey Kendall settled into the second position with their catch of 11.96lbs, anchored by a 4.43lb largemouth. For their second place finish, each angler received matching plaques, a combination prize package of a Plano storage box containing a lipless crankbait and pack of bullet weights (Provided in part by Outdoor Accessories Unlimited), a ZMan Fishing Lures pack of Elaztech product and a package of hooks from Penetration Hooks.
Ashton and Bladen Rasberry filled the third spot with their catch of 11.00lbs, including the single largest fish of the event weighing in at 5.24lbs. For their efforts, each angler received a combination prize package of a Plano storage box containing a lipless crankbait and pack of bullet weights (Provided in part by Outdoor Accessories Unlimited), a ZMan Fishing Lures pack of Elaztech product and a package of hooks from Penetration Hooks.
Nicholas Godwin and Will Puckett took the fourth spot with their catch of 10.98lbs. Each angler earned a combination prize package of a Plano storage box and pack of bullet weights (Provided in part by Outdoor Accessories Unlimited), a ZMan Fishing Lures pack of Elaztech product and a package of hooks from Penetration Hooks.
Rounding out the top five was the tandem of Ryan Dail and Jeffrey Cale with their catch of 9.65lbs. Each angler received a prize package of ZMan Fishing Lures Elaztech products and hooks from Penetration Hooks.
Another great day of fish care by our teams. Fifty-eight of the fifty-nine fish that crossed the scales were alive and well and each were returned to the water to be caught again another day. Thank-you boat captains for your help with this matter.
Door prizes were awarded from Z-Man Fishing Products, Solar Bat Sunglasses, Penetration Hooks, and Ranger Boats.
During the afternoon awards presentations, we took a little time to recognize two teams that recently represented North Carolina at the 2017 Bassmaster Junior Championships in Tennessee. Congratulations to Ashton Rasberry / Bladen Rasberry and Nathan Canaday / Kyle Davis for your accomplishment.
